How it Works
Beginners:
You will be guided in a nonjudgmental and supportive way to learn the foundational techniques of oil painting.
Intermediate/Advanced
Beginners:
You will be guided in a nonjudgmental and supportive way to learn the foundational techniques of oil painting.
Intermediate/Advanced
Come ready to paint! There is no formal structure for you in this class. Bring a painting you are working on and I will give you tips throughout the class. Or, you will be given a subject to paint, either from a photo or from life. I have a great collection of reference photos. Also, I will give you special challenges now and then to keep you on your toes.
Each week I will do one or some of the following:
Demo an oil painting or something
Have critique session
Discuss color theory
Discuss Composition & design
Explore painting techniques: such as scumbling, stippling, palette knife and others
Or we will discuss other aspects of the creative process
Also, sometimes students will be given a 15 to 20 minute small painting or drawing challenge that I will have prepared in advance. It is not required that students do the painting challenge but most students find them fun and educational.
Registration
Your class payment is your registration.
